Peru: Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, Lima and Cusco

We went to Peru on a "purposeful vacation" combining a medical mission with some sightseeing.  The students at our medical school have for the past 5 years gone to the Sacred Valley in the Andes on a month long medical mission.  Faculty members volunteer to accompany them as preceptors.  This year we were able to go as the timing was just right.   I went as a Internist, my wife as ophthalmologist and our daughter as a Spanish translator.  At least that was the plan.  What we ended up doing was quite different and you have to read the blogs (especially the one from Day 6) to see how our roles evolved over time.
We also managed to spend 2 days in Lima, a day in Cusco and a day in Machu Picchu/Aquas Callientes.  The travelogue is hosted on Word Press and is iframed below.

Hawaii

This was a great trip combining work with vacation.  Both my wife and I were presenting CME lectures on a cruise ship that took us to all 4 big islands in Hawaii over 8 days.  The blog is hosted on Word Press and iframed below.
